Gorgeous Gardens Blossom for 16th Annual GardenWalk
The world can use more peace, more color, more time to stop and smell the flowers. Buffalo’s GardenWalk provides all of this and much, much more.
Saturday, before the torrential downpour and during the near-record humidity, I made it through a few of the astounding 355 gardens open for visitors this weekend. I can’t say enough about the care, creativity, and pride Buffalonians are exhibiting in their gardens — large and small.
This free and fun event is a gift to Western New York from a small, dedicated group of volunteers who are now gaining well-deserved national attention for their cultivated and cultivating efforts. Bouquets to all concerned!

Martin Lemke says it has taken him 31 years to create his beautiful backyard oasis on Little Summer Street.

Some of the homes in the close-knit Cottage District were built not long after the birth of our nation.

Arlen Peters and Dom DeFillippo at 20 Norwood display all of the GardenWalk posters. They are dedicated GardenWalk veterans.

The Victorian home of Jennifer and Jim Guercio at 755 W. Delavan is a popular GardenWalk destination.









I regret to say that I was slightly under the weather this year and missed The Buffalo Garden Walk. I feel much better now that I have viewed your photos. I’m not feeling so left out. Your photo’s are beautiful. Were they taken by a professional photographer?
