There are too many taxes as it is and this is just another way for the state to blead more money out of those who don’t have it. This tax is more for upstate vs those downstate and would not effect politicians in anyway since they don’t pay for their vehicles.
When are these people going to stop this insanity? It is impossible to spend your way out of a deficit. This state is driving people away with its ridiculous tax policies. I just purchased a new vehicle. Why should I have to immediately purchase new plates? How about lowering taxes so that more business owners would be able to afford to stay in business and hire more people? If we take care of the unemployment problem, we would not have to worry about such frivolous and ignorant ideas. It think we need a smaller government and different elected officials especially a different governor. This one appears to be quite incompetent.

I am agianst the new plates as there are still the old plates in stock and they would have to be destroyed and that woudl be a waist of money. The state has to stop driving resident and jobs out of state and the better wake up and find ways to keep our resident from leaving and try and get new residents and jobs in the area or this state and resident will stuffer. NYS, Mine and My Fiancee’s License Plates are just fine the way they are, there is nothing wrong with them and right down to the simple point not everybody can afford getting new plates, and another fact is that they are down right ugly!!!! The most recent plates display the Trade Center Towers, why should we forget them, to a plate with nothing on them, nothing to remember, our license plates show a sense of pride in our state. Nobody should buy these new plates and there is really no reason to issue new plates, except to fuel the already money hungry corrupt politicians in NYS. Paying 25 dollars for these plates is crazy, and paying an additional 20 just to keep your old plate numbers is down right stupid of this state. Don’t issue new plates and smarten up NYS!!!!!
I just received my trailer renewal fees in the mail , I was shocked to find they more than tripled as well as car registration fees being increased , Now they want to go back to boring , ugly colored license plates and charge us for them , when is it enough ??????

Get the prisoners sweepcleanig the streets and start working for their keep. Maybe they’ll think twice before commiting that next crime. Just think, saving NYS $ on “prison perks”, put them to work and even save more! Stop having people who have to drive pay higher. We in upstate NY do not have the luxury of rapid transit. Majority of upstate New York owns at least one vehicle and it is not fair to put the burden on us. How about raising the rates on the rapid transit system in New York City for a change. We are getting pretty tired of footing the bill every time something is going to be raised. It is about time that NYC starts pulling it weight. Upstate is taxed to death and we are tired of it.
