Seven days to go and President Obama warned Americans that they need to be prepared.

President Barack Obama warned Americans on Thursday who have not prepared for the June 12 transition to digital television that their TVs could go dark if they do not get a converter box soon.
It’s crunch time. There is very little time left. Are you ready?
I live in Pendleton but have property in central Allegany county. On our property there we have a house my mom lives in which we have a dish for television.
We also have 2 cabins about 150 yards from the house which I rent out from time to time to outdoor enthusiasts. We have TV’s in both and just have antennas on the buildings which I could always get nice and clear the 3 Buffalo stations.
Bought my 2 converter boxes a few motnhs ago for the cabins and got down this past weekend to hook them up.
Not very happy! Both cabins after the box did its searching found no signals!
Is there any other antenna options I might try? We’re located off route 244 between Alfred and Belmont NY at roughly a 2,000 ft. elevation.
I found that little DTV signal search here on your website. It pretty much said there was no signal for our exact location but 10 miles away towards Angelica has a pretty good signal.
I hardly have enough rentals to justify getting another dish for the other cabins.
Any thoughts?
Help…. I purchased a New TV w/ digital. I continue to scan for digital stations and I get nothing, zip, nothing… I used to get 3 buffalo and 1 rochester fine. I live in Humphrey NY between Great Valley and Olean
For people with property and high Taxes, hunting and fishing with no electricity you have crippled all of us! there is 1000’s. It’s another dictative move which we have no say in. It’s not right!
You aren’t kidding! The MORNING of the transition I had 2.1 2.2 2.3 4.1 7′1 and 23.1 on my new thousand dollar HD TV ! I live in PA 5 miles from NY border. When I came home from work I was so excited to see all the new channels. We had ABC,NBC and CBS bfore out of Buf for 30 yrs also several Canadian channels all came in at diferent levels of reception depending on the weather. That day I turned the tv on… and found NOTHING !!! Well except all the Canadian channels. Oh yeah and the God channels. I think those stations come in WITHOUT the antenna hooked up !!! He must have His own tv station. I regress. So I beleive this must be some government conspiracy to get us to buy satalites or cable .It’ll be gov. run ,they’re taking over everything else!!! I hate it !! And THEY TOLD US OVER AND OVER FOR MONTHS TO GO OUT AND BUy THOSE STUPID BOXES AND THEY DON’T WORK !!!i DIDN’T HAVE A COUPON . wELL i FEEL BETTER NOW, tHANX
