Fewer households unprepared for DTV

Only 2.1%, or 2.1 million, U.S. TV households have yet to take steps to prepare for the June 12 DTV transition, according to a survey by SmithGeiger LLC for the NAB. The NAB’s estimate takes into account households that are completely ready for the transition and ones that have requested or received a converter-box coupon. Nielsen, which measures preparedness based on what would happen if the transition took place now, estimates the number of DTV-unready households at 3.1%, or 3.5 million.
