New DTV tools available
We’ve learned that the FCC has launched a new website full of interactive tools and advice for viewers of digital television. Go to www.dtv.gov to find out more.
It’s a one-stop-shop where you can link to converter coupon applications, find a retailer near you selling converters, advice on how to install converters, tips on fixing reception issues and more including an interactive map tool which will show you if you can receive our digital signal in your home.
Check it out.
We have always had over the air reception using our VHF antenna, but when the switch to digital takes place in June, we will not be able to receive it. We purchased a UHF antenna, a converter box, and a signal meter. There is no signal whatsoever due to distance and hilly terrain. Will WIVB be building repeaters, or TV translators? I contacted the FCC, and they said it was up to each individual station.
Sincerely,
Bill
I wouldn’t rule it out completely for the future but I know of no plans right now for translator installations.
