Did you notice the former Bill making plays for the Ravens in the AFC playoff win over the Titans?  Yes, its safety Jim Leonhard.  He had one fumble recovery, forced a huge fumble late in the game, had 5 tackles, and returned a punt 29 yards.  Leonhard starts at safety becaue Dawan Landry was hurt earlier in the season.  Now, before you go second-guessing keep this in mind.  Leonhard never did much with Buffalo, even when he had the chance to start.  He now plays on the NFL’s best defense, which allows him to freelance a lot more.  He also plays next to safety Ed Reed, the best in the NFL.

Hmmm,!!?? he came off the bench in the ‘07 season opener against the Denver Broncos after starter Ko Simpson was hurt and went on to record 13 tackles. Who was he playing next to then??

The bottom line is Leonhard had/has the talent but the Bills failed see it. And you wonder why he Bills suck every year.

  2. Edward says:

Think he had an Int in that game too. Bills look bad for letting him go.

  3. Deve says:

Yeah, anyone who was paying attention knew he was good enough to see that the Bills were fools not to give him a qualifying offer. If he wasn’t pretty clearly a promising player why would the NFL’s best defense have wanted him?

WHy does Paul Peck make me laugh?

Leonhard is so much better than anything the Bills have left at safety. Is this the first time he noticed Leonhard all season? Hmmm…..

Big surprise; another coaching staff can get more out of a Bills castoff than the Bills could. Can you say Glenn Parker and Sammy Morris? Of course, we really didn’t need Antoine Winfield or Pat williams anymore either.

You know I like Leonhard. He’s not a big guy at 5 foot 8 but that size does pay off. He can tackle, he’s got great speed and awareness, and is a descant punt returner, And just don’t forget hed had a few interceptions a year ago.
So in my opinion I think he will have a great playoff season with the ravens, he may even lead them to the the bowl who knows it could happen.
