Doesn’t it seem like this winter, along with the past few winters, we’ve been going through extreem swings in daytime highs? With every arctic blast there seems to be an equally powerful rebound in warmth.
It looks like the transition back to cold begins late WED. Wed through Monday looks interesting as far as LES potential, a deep low will lift NE and bring in behind it the classic cold front, however the air mass looks like it’s going to be very dry which I believe lessens the LES? With the SE flow so rapid it is going to allow for high pressure to move back in again rather quickly. Looks like best time for big lake snow is mid thursday into evening. They are predicting the classic “multiple bands’ to set up with the direction of wind being from the NW. Looks like the temperature rollercoaster returns over the weekend with another big hit of warm air.
Don,
How long do you think the warm-up will last? Do you forsee any return to snow and cold before Christmas?
Don,
